Ziploc bags are like Kleenex to me.
What I mean by that is, there may be a million brands of clear plastic bags, but I’ll always refer to each of them as Ziplocs.
I know what you’re thinking: Ziploc bags aren’t the most environmentally friendly option. Well… yes, that is true. And to be honest, I like using new ones and replace them when they look a little worn. However, I need to organize everything on my to-do list and all the items I need to bring with me, so I'm somewhat obsessive about my Ziplocs.
What do I love about them? They're see-through, and I especially love the ones I can write on with my Sharpie.
I like my bags very basic. With regular Ziplocs, I always prefer the freezer bag style. They’re thicker and convenient, especially when traveling and your shampoo or conditioner leaks.
Here are some of my other favorites, including bags which are biodegradable and made from plants.
Evolve Together, founded by Cynthia Sakai, is an incredibly cool company that I’m a big fan of. In addition to creating awesome bags, they also offer deodorant, skincare, and various cleaning supplies. I purchase from them often.
I'm also quite taken with the adorable bags from IKEA. They are super affordable and have very cool designs. These bags come in all different sizes, from tiny to medium to large, even square. They might not always be in stores, but they are available to purchase online.
My sister, who is a nutrition health coach, recommended another type of Ziploc bag I got from Walmart. They have portion control, so when you put in nuts, blueberries, or anything you're trying to manage, there's a measuring element to it. They're really great.
Then there are the bags I get from our product development team at Jones Road, which have a white patch in the middle. This patch makes them easy to write on, which is very convenient. I often use these bags to store tester samples or lip glosses that the team wants me to try and review. Adrienne, who is on our PD team, writes exactly what each bag is for and when she needs my feedback, which helps keep me organized.
Another great design is the small pouch I use for my vitamins and medicine when I travel. It allows you to write on the bag exactly what day and what it's for.
I also have quite a few Stasher bags, which are reusable, dishwasher-safe, and can be used repeatedly. They’re thicker and heavier than my everyday Ziplocs, so I use them for travel to store packets of AG1 greens, powdered electrolyte packets, and anything else I need to keep organized.
Truth be told, I am a huge fan of Ziploc bags in all their different forms.
