Picking favorite jeans is harder than it looks. For us short girls, getting the perfect fit isn’t always easy. Luckily for me, I’ve found some brands that always work out and stay in my closet. Here’s a peak into my denim.
OLIVER LOGAN JEANS
I discovered Oliver Logan jeans—of course—on Instagram. I ordered a pair in petites, and everyone kept asking me what I was wearing. I love them because they’re really comfortable, high-ish waisted, and perfectly proportioned for my height. I ordered two: one distressed with a few holes, and one in a darker wash. They've quickly become my go-to.
I also tried another style that wasn’t petite. While I loved the look, the fit just wasn’t quite right for me, so I sent them back and exchanged them for another petite pair. And if you're reading this, you're probably a shorty like I am—so you get it. If you want to try a pair, you can use code BOBBI25 for 25% off (one-time purchase).
MUJI JEANS
Honorable mention: my skinny jeans from Muji. I bought them in bulk when I thought the company was going out of business. They have a light stretch—even though I don’t like stretch—but I make an exception for these.
I know skinny jeans aren’t exactly trending right now, but I don’t care. I wear these when I’m being photographed because they look like Japanese denim but feel as comfortable as leggings. I’m not sure if they still carry them, but they’re worth checking out.
LIL MOTHER JEANS
Shout out to the LIL Mother jeans—they get that some of us need a more thoughtful fit but still want jeans that look “normal.” I wear them a lot because the fit is perfect.
That said, there's just a bit too much stretch for me. I’ve found that any jeans with stretch end up bagging out, no matter what. They lose their shape and start to feel sloppy, which drives me nuts—even if the fit at first is spot on.
J.CREW PETITES
I’ve also loved—and still do—the J.Crew petites. They fit me pretty much perfectly. They're straight leg, not skinny, and not as fashion-forward as some of the jeans I bought in London with my uber-stylish daughter-in-law. Those have a fuller leg, and while I do wear them, they’re not my go-tos.
That said, every time I wear the London ones, my youngest son and his girlfriend tell me how great they look—so maybe I just need to get a little more comfortable with this more fashion-forward jeans vibe.
LEVI’S
And I’m forever a Levi’s girl—the 501s, 509s. Levi’s is one of those brands that always manages to balance heritage and modern style. They just get it.
Plus, here’s a bonus Japanese denim jacket I found at Levi’s. But of course- I won’t be wearing this with blue jeans.
Lastly, I could probably do a jeans post every six months. Even though I’m pretty happy with my current lineup—kind of like how some women feel about their lipsticks—I always think I could do better.
Great recs! Also, I love my Nelle Atelier jeans, made for those of us 5’6 and under- definitely worth checking out. xx
