It’s been a very active, busy, and fun summer. After indulging in about a dozen pizza trucks, I’ve realized pizza isn't my best friend. Every year, despite my best intentions, I reach the end of summer craving a reset and recharge. For me, that usually means slowing things down—skipping dinners and parties for at least a few weeks.
However, I know it's not going to happen—I have an active social and family life. So, I try to adapt and adjust my activities. While they might be fun in the moment, they don't always make me feel my best. As a foodie and a health nut, I often find these two sides don't always go hand-in-hand.
But I'm also someone who believes I can always adapt and adjust to feel better. I recently reached out to my friend, nutritionist, and health coach Sarah Wragge (SWW), who teaches women a new way of eating and balancing their lives. I also had breakfast with Gregg Renfrew, the founder of Beauty Counter, who has followed Sarah’s program and says it’s been life-changing. I'm still a work in progress.
I'm someone who reads every other word—sometimes starting in the middle of a paragraph, then going to the top and trying to read through—so I don’t usually follow things word by word. However, I’ve picked up some good tricks along the way, and every time I see Sarah, it reminds me to alkalize, drink water, and start my day with protein. Here’s Sarah sharing some small changes that can have a big impact. For more tips and recipes, check out her Instagram and website.
