PAID SUBSCRIBERS ONLY: LIVE CHAT TODAY FROM 2-3 PM. HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY WINNER TO BE ANNOUNCED.
I’m pretty low-key when it comes to gifts. Here are ten things I’d be over the moon to get this season. A lot of these, I already have, but I love to stock up— they’re that good. If you’re looking for a bit of holiday inspiration, this one’s for you.
These tights are my ride-or-die. I love them because they’re thin, suck everything in, but still let me breathe like a normal human. They’re comfy, top-notch quality, and always tossed in my suitcase.
I found these shirts in Southampton this summer, and I keep ordering more. They’re made with the best quality fabric and wash up like they’re brand new. In the summer, I pair them with jeans or a long silk skirt, and lately, I’ve been wearing them under blazers—they just work. When I’m packing, these are the first things I toss in my bag.
It’s soft, fits nicely in the shoulders, and doesn’t have those capped sleeves (because nobody wants their arms looking like overstuffed sausages). It’s not too tight or sheer, which is a total win when you’re sitting down and trying not to flash your business. Plus, it’s slim enough to slide under my fitted blazers without turning me into the human equivalent of a marshmallow in a suit.
I don’t get to enjoy my fall and winter clothes for too long since I head to Florida right after the holidays. But when I’m living in those mild 60-degree temps, there are a few staple pieces I can’t live without. These items are always in my bag—even in the summer with air conditioning. I pack them for any trip; they’re perfect on an airplane and can double as a light blanket when I get a little chilly.
One thing about me is that I love caviar. I love it black, crunchy, and the way it pops in my mouth. It’s such a decadent treat for me, but it never lasts very long once I have it. I’ve tried many brands that I adore, and here’s one of them: a company called Roe, created by the sister of Jennifer Meyer, the designer of my infamous Fu** necklace
New Balance Walking Shoes 574 Core
I walk a lot, and these are my go-to shoes. They’re comfortable, stylish, and have that cool vintage vibe. Plus, I can pair them with black pants and a Chanel jacket for dinner and still look put-together. They also work well at the gym, so when I’m traveling, I usually wear them on the plane—they don’t bulk up my small Away suitcase.
I love really good olive oil. When traveling to Italy or Greece, it’s the standard—you can just smell it. It’s fragrant, a little tart, sunny, and one of my favorite gifts to bring when visiting someone for dinner—it always gets used, unlike many other gifts. I cook with this brand’s olive oil and love the simplicity of the spout. It also makes a fantastic gift. This year, after a stellar Black Friday, we bought it for our entire staff.
One of my favorite gifts—hint, hint—was from my sister-in-law. She bought me storage containers perfect for soup, along with a gift of a monthly soup delivery she makes right in her kitchen. I freeze the soups right away, and whenever I need a quick meal, I thaw one by placing it in a bowl of hot water. Instant dinner. My friend Lynette and Olivia also drop off soups to me sometimes. If you’re lucky enough to be local to Montclair or Maplewood, here’s a great option for you too. I buy from her and it’s great.
My Favorite Flower: Dahlia
I'm pretty particular when it comes to flowers. I’m not a fan of mixed bouquets and usually stick to hydrangeas or tulips in the spring. Recently, I’ve fallen in love with dahlias. I’m not sure of their exact season, but they’re so beautiful—I even follow an account dedicated to them on Instagram. No matter the time of year, they always make a great gift.
I walk into this store and instantly want to live there. Everything is simple yet the best quality. I’ve started collecting their eyeglass cases in different colors—I even carry my husband’s reading glasses in a red case when we go to dinner so I don’t lose them. I also bought luggage tags in various colors for the kids. Since we all use the same suitcase when traveling, everyone has their own color, so it’s easy to tell which one is theirs.
