Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with great food and drinks. I reached out to one of my favorite people and good friend—who also is an incredible chef and entrepreneur—to get her go-to spots in New York, just in time for the holiday.
At the top of the list (not that you can get in) are her two restaurants, Lilia and Misi. They are delicious and the perfect places to dine—unless you're trying to cut back on carbs, but it’s so worth it. She’s also hosted a drool-worthy pop-up at my event studio, 18 Label, in Montclair.
I’ll let you know the next time it’s there—you won’t want to miss it.
If you’re looking for the place to spend your day, here are Missy Robbins’ favorite spots in New York.
I’m so lucky to have this spot in my neighborhood. The hospitality is incredible, the wine list is special, and [Chef] Nick is cooking at an exceptionally high level. Don’t miss the celery date salad—it's a standout.
I miss Uncle Boons as much as every New Yorker does, but Thai Diner fills that void beautifully, bringing so many of their signature dishes along. Don’t sleep on the coconut sundae; it’s a must.
ISodi is my NYC happy place. I’ve been going for years and used to live just a block away. Great Negronis, great vibes—simple as that.
Ayesha is cooking some of the most flavorful Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. Her breads are incredible, the vegetable dishes are vibrant, and there are always little surprises tucked into each plate.
I’ve always wanted a little white-tablecloth restaurant on a cozy downtown Manhattan corner. King delivers on every level. The menu changes often, the wine selection is excellent, the olive oil cake is the best I’ve ever had, and dining here always makes me feel like a grown-up (in the best way).
If you’re craving pristine raw seafood, perfectly prepared fish, and fantastic wine, this is your spot. The food is fresh and refined, but never stuffy. I can’t get enough of it.
Technically, it’s not in NYC—you’ll have to venture through a tunnel to Jersey—but it’s simply the best pizza ever. Cheers to Dan Richer for making it worth the trip.
Saving this! Razza has been on my list for years. Time to make the trip ❤️
Great Valentines Day suggestions!!!!! and be sure to let us know about the pop up!
