I’m still trying to figure out Substack. I scroll through tons of newsletters. I love reading all the different stories and writing them too. Recently, I came across a post by Angharad Jones called "I Want to Look Like Myself On My Wedding Day." She's a soon-to-be bride talking about her bridal makeup struggles, so naturally, as a makeup artist, I offered to help.
Angharad is in her 30s and has worked in-house for luxury fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands in London, Manchester, and Sydney. She's also freelanced for a bunch of other brands all over the world.
Bridal makeup doesn’t have to be over the top, and there's no right or wrong way to do it. Personally, I’m all about a natural look—it’s what my brand stands for. A lot of people think there’s a set way it’s "supposed" to look, but that's just not true. I want to show not just Angharad, but everyone, that you can do your own bridal makeup and still feel like yourself.
After chatting back and forth for a bit, we were able to come up with the perfect plan. I am excited to announce on Thursday, September 26th, I will be giving
a live makeup lesson on Zoom — and you’re invited.
My team and I sent some products to the UK to nail down both a peachy and pink bridal look, and I’m going to guide Angharad through it step by step. You don’t need to be a bride to join in. We’ll also cover some makeup basics and answer any of your makeup questions.
