I recently had my third Sofwave treatment with Dr. Rishi Chopra, who, by the way, I just love. He’s a self-described nerd who is incredibly into the technology, and he’s a great teacher who explains what works, what doesn’t, and how much pain is involved. He also works with a lot of different modalities as a spokesperson, and he’s so good at it. For those of you in New York City, he has an office on the Upper West Side and also in the Hamptons.
We started the treatment after an hour of numbing. I was firing questions at him left and right, and I asked if he could answer some of them in depth so I could simplify it for myself and for you guys—what works and what doesn’t. Here are the questions I asked Dr. Chopra so you don’t have to.
What is Sofwave?
A) Sofwave is a non-surgical, non-invasive FDA approved aesthetic treatment to
lift the eyebrows,
lift sagging skin on the neck, beneath the chin, and upper arms
improve the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles
improve the appearance of acne scars.
B) The device uses high frequency ultrasound to gently heat the skin to a target temperature, initiating a controlled and natural collagen-stimulation response. The creation of new, healthy collagen deep in the skin enables the tightening and firming of tissue, producing overall more youthful, lifted skin. The treatment is virtually painless, very safe, and no recovery time is required. Patients can expect to see peak results within 2-3 months following 1-2 treatment sessions.
