A little, or widely, known fact: I love to dance, and I love hip-hop. Interesting things happen when you put the two together (especially with a tequila).
A while back, I was invited on stage with Flo Rida at one of his concerts. I met him backstage and had crazy good hearing. Through all the noise of the concert, I heard him ask “Where is my new friend Bobbi Brown?”. I dropped my purse- literally- and jumped on stage without thinking or fear. He put his bling on my neck and I just moved like no one was watching.
This wasn’t just a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I also got called on stage by Salt-N-Pepa a year later. I called myself Sugar and didn’t hesitate. Even though it was in my hometown, I went for it.
Seriously joy for me. One day I thought that I worked too much, and didn’t have a hobby. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do for fun, and it hit me. I want to take hip-hop lessons. I found Lloyd Pearson, now Live with Lloyd, and booked some classes. It brings me great joy and I torch a bunch of calories.
Not sure if I’m getting better or just getting less worse.
I made a LWL playlist on Spotify and you won’t be able to not dance.
I admire you for “living out loud”! Seems like these days we have to constantly worry about being caught on camera & someone spinning what was done in a negative light. 💃 👍
Thank you SO much for sharing these. Now I'm inspired to get up and dance!
