(Doctor Pozner and I)
What is Sofwave™ Plus Pure Impact™?
The treatment is the world's first whole-body muscle stimulator to emulate explosive muscle movements, inspired by elite athletes' PLYOMETRIC training.
With recent FDA clearance, the treatment strengthens, tones, and firms the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. The technology stimulates four muscles in your abdominal area and creates a contraction (mimicking a workout).
Whether you are on a weight loss journey or just looking to tone and firm muscles on the body, PlyoPulse TM technology activates multiple electrode pairs simultaneously for each body area, resulting in broader, more efficient stimulation, and whole-body muscle conditioning.
Since I was at the doctor’s office doing my second Sofwave on my face, the good doctor, Dr. Pozner, offered a series of brand new treatments that have just been given FDA clearance – Sofwave for the body.
It’s not what Sofwave for the face offers, though that would be awesome. The face treatment is meant for, lifting, and increasing collagen, which I think would be a gift to all of us women of a certain age. This treatment works to lift muscles while simply lying on the table and reading on your iPad.
It’s suggested you do between 4 and 6 treatments to see a change. It takes 30 minutes per side, and I flipped to do the tummy and backside (tush).
The first step is putting a sticky pad on the area you want to be lifted while lying down. I had probably six to eight on my tummy and the same on my upper legs.
Then, the pads were hooked up to the machine by a cord, and I felt a little shock/buzzing. It didn’t hurt but tickled and felt odd. It was turned up until I squealed. I did 30 minutes on the front and back.
I did four treatments, two a week, for two weeks. Did I look like an extreme athlete? Not so much, but I definitely noticed a lifted tummy and a wee bit on my bum. I was feeling pretty strong all over.
I was also strength training 3x a week at the time. It made me more aware of where these muscles I need to work on are. I’m glad I tried it, but honestly, what I liked the best about it was it gave me more enthusiasm to work harder in the gym.
My thoughts are this treatment is great for models or actresses preparing for the red carpet or swimwear shows, and probably younger bodies with tight skin.
Perhaps for us women of a certain age, the expense and time commitment have to be taken into consideration because of low to medium results. Maybe one day when there is a home version, I’d strap it on while watching the news or Seinfeld reruns.
Well, you learn something every day. Always thought the “tush” was on the *other* side 😂
It sounds like something that was done to me post PT after my tibial plateau fracture. I have no idea what the purpose of it was but I loved the way it felt.
